About the event
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, join us for a unique community art experience where together we will build a neighborhood made of memories.
Participants will create a miniature home, apartment, casita, brownstone, storefront, or dream house inspired by a place that has shaped their life. Each piece will include a story hidden behind an opening door—a memory, tradition, family moment, or reflection on what home means to them.
As the event unfolds, individual houses will come together to form a collaborative community installation, creating a living portrait of the cultures, families, histories, and dreams that make North Brooklyn home.
This intergenerational experience welcomes children, adults, families, elders, artists, and neighbors of all backgrounds. Whether your story begins in Puerto Rico, Brooklyn, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Poland, Ecuador, or beyond, your home and your story belong here.
